(Hmp believes in being Self-Supporting. We run a Spiritual Bookstore. Our Partners donate money for us to purchase books, they donate their spiritual books to us, and they buy our books. We don't believe in something for nothing. It is our desire to bring Buddhist Teachings to the Homeless, and we support that by running a Successful Not-for-Profit Spiritual Bookstore. When you buy from us, you are giving the Homeless the gift of the Dharma and getting a great spiritual book at the same time. Also, for the price of one plane ticket, we send an HMP Representative to anywhere in the World that asks for our help in starting Homeless Outreach in their area.)

Great idea on the Spiritual Bookstore. I dropped in and bought a few books that I was meaning to buy anyhow.
ReplyDeleteThe next time I go down to San Antonio, we should meet up. I've heard tons about you from Lisa and Rinpoche and I'm a fan of the street dharma blog.
I really admire what you are doing. I've only been a student of Rinpoche's for a couple of years now, but it's really changing my world view. I recently moved though and it's been challenging being separated from my sangha.
